Erin Crall was born in Fort Collins, Colorado. Before she was four, she moved to Los Altos, California and started dancing at age five, taking jazz, tap, lyrical and ballet. Moving later to Iowa, she continued her dance education and added modern to the styles she studied. Erin began focusing on ballet and modern at age eleven while studying with Julie Grooters and Paula McArthur. When Erin was thirteen, she started training at Pacific Northwest Ballet School (PNBS) where she continued through graduation from the Professional Division Program in 2009. Currently, Erin is studying privately with Viktoria Titova and performing as a guest artist. She has studied in summer with the Hungarian National Ballet, at The Hungarian National Academy of Dance, Pacific Northwest Ballet School, American Ballet Theatre’s New York Program, Boston Ballet, and privately with Deborah Hadley.
Erin performed with Pacific Northwest Ballet’s Corps de Ballet for three years. Her roles include: Kent Stowell’s Swan Lake and Nutcracker, Balanchine’s Diamonds, Symphony in C, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Christopher Wheeldon’s Carousel (A Dance). Erin has originated roles in Kiyon Gaines’ No [Holds] Barre’d, Barry Kerollis’ Pariah in which she was the lead, Helen Pickett’s Twenty-two and the duet Minus 20, and Sonia Dawkins’ K-Requim.
As a student, she performed Balanchine’s La Source, Serenade, “Waltz of the Flowers” from Nutcracker, Who Cares? and Cortege Hongrois as well as Bruce Wells’ Hansel and Gretel. Erin was Clara in Iowa Dance Theatre’s The Nutcracker and performed numerous roles of different styles with youth companies.
Erin’s non-ballet roles include Sonia Dawkins’ K-Requim and Sporadic Moment, and the leading role in Alla Nikitina’s Tzigane. She continues to broaden her dance training with Master Classes from Alonzo King and Mark Morris, Flamenco and Spanish classes from Sara de Luis and Hip-Hop and Jazz classes from a variety of instructors. While studying with the Hungarian National Ballet in 2009, she also took classes from and performed the choreography of Raza Hammadi.
Erin has performed musically in multiple forms in addition to her dancing - acting in school musical theater productions for six years; competing as a member of an ensemble choir and small, swing choir; playing bassoon; playing piano.
In 2007, Erin was a National Merit Finalist Scholarship Recipient. She speaks English and French.
